Tech::LulzSec, Anonymous Hacker Groups Declare War Against Governments, 'Gluttons'

Anonymous Lulzsec Operation Antisecurity Antisec

Though it looked for a moment as if LulzSec and Anonymous might be getting ready for a hacker war against each other, the two groups have instead decided to band together against their real enemies: Governments.

Called "Operation Anti-Security," the new effort's "top priority" is, according to a blog post, to steal and leak classified government information, including email and documentation, with banks and other "high-ranking" establishments" pegged as "prime targets."

LulzSec has recently gotten attention for launching cyber attacks against the CIA and Senate websites, as well as Sony Pictures and PBS. Anonymous shut down Mastercard, VisaPayPal and others in retaliation for those sites cutting off funding to Wikileaks, and have carried out myriad attacks against many other major organizations.

Though LulzSec has been taunting Anonymous by mocking 4Chan, the site where Anonymous has its roots, apparently the two groups are over that.

"Attention #Media: about #Lulzsec and #Anonymous, we are not at war. We are bros of teh internetz. Also, /b/ != Anonymous," Anonymous tweeted.

There are apparently bigger fish to fry. "Our Lulz Lizard battle fleet is now declaring immediate and unremitting war on the freedom-snatching moderators of 2011," the letter from Lulz Security said, referring to "the government and whitehat security terrorists." The letter encourages supporters to deface government websites, as well as physical locations, with the word "AntiSec."

"To increase efforts, we are now teaming up with the Anonymous collective and all affiliated battleships," the letter continued.
